TWITTER TRIBUTE – Beastie Boys loses Adam Yauch – #RIPMCA
Beastie Boys who helped redefine Rap & Hip-Hop have lost one of the members of their group today, Adam Yauch. Widely known as MCA, he was a lyrical genius and will be mourned by many.
Over the course of eight studio albums, the most recent being the acclaimed “Hot Sauce Committee, Part 2,” Beastie Boys sold more than 40 million records, released four No. 1 albums and created some of the most iconic videos in the history of the medium, one of which, for “Sabotage,” helped launch the career of a young skate punk named Spike Jonze.

Adam Yauch | 1964-2012
It is with great sadness that we confirm that musician, rapper, activist and director Adam “MCA” Yauch, founding member of Beastie Boys and also of the Milarepa Foundation that produced the Tibetan Freedom Concert benefits, and film production and distribution company Oscilloscope Laboratories, passed away in his native New York City this morning after a near-three-year battle with cancer. He was 47 years old.
RIP Adam Yauch (MCA of the Beastie Boys). He was a super-genius, a visionary and, most importantly, a really good person.

Rest on peace Adam Yauch. Beastie Boys were always the “coolest whiteboys” when I was growing up. They erased color lines the opposite way
